According to early reports from local authorities, at least four people were killed and ten others were transported to nearby hospitals following the violent shooting, which unfolded Saturday evening in a residential neighborhood of Stockton. Officials say the investigation remains active as detectives work to determine exactly what led to the deadly outbreak of violence.
Neighbors described the gathering as a typical family celebration just moments before chaos consumed the area. Bright balloons lined fences and parked cars, music played from inside the home, and children could be seen laughing and running through the yard while relatives prepared food and birthday gifts.
Witnesses say the atmosphere changed instantly when rapid gunfire suddenly echoed through the neighborhood.
Several residents initially believed the loud noises were fireworks connected to the party festivities. Within seconds, however, panic spread through the crowd as screaming parents rushed to protect their children and people began fleeing in every direction searching for cover.
Inside the home, families had reportedly gathered around tables filled with food and decorations when bullets tore through the celebration. Responding officers later described a heartbreaking and chaotic scene upon arrival — overturned chairs scattered across the property, broken dishes and cups covering the ground, balloons floating among debris, and terrified children clinging to adults in shock.
Emergency medical teams rushed multiple victims to area hospitals while officers secured the neighborhood and searched for possible suspects.
